Two Courses Found

Well, I'm very excited because I've managed to find two cookery courses that look very interesting.

Last night I surfed the internet and found quite a number of courses - I was surprised because there's quite a lot out there!  Some are quite expensive though and are not entirely what I'm looking for.

The first course I found is a one day introduction to cookery - please see link for more details: Red Letter Days.  I think that this course looks very enjoyable and should be a good start for what I hope to achieve.  I hope to apply for this course fairly soon before starting the next course.

The second course I found is for 8 weeks and starts on 1 May in the evening.  It takes place at Kingston Adult Education and it's aimed at beginners wishing to gain cookery skills to produce cost-effective and tasty home cooked meals for family and friends.  In this course you will cover the principles of food hygiene, weights and measures and learn how to combine ingredients.

Both courses sound like what I'm looking for so I think I will give them a try and give you full details of how I get on.

In the meantime, I'll still be researching other courses and if you know of any courses that might be of interest, then please let me know!

My Quest to Cook

Hello and welcome to my blog!

I have to admit that all this blogging stuff is all new to me but I’m quite excited about it - mainly because of the end result and hopefully because of all the things I'll be able to achieve.

I was thinking the other day that there's a few things I've still not done which I'd hoped to achieve earlier in my life but for whatever reason it never happened.  But the time has now come and with the realisation that every second, minute, hour and day really does count, I’ve set myself a challenge to make as many achievements as I'm able from now on.

The first of which is to do with cooking....Yes that’s right; I am currently on a quest to learn how to cook!

Well to be fair, I can actually cook and I wouldn’t say that I’m a bad cook because I can just about cook something that is edible, but what I cook at the moment is very boring. My aim is to master the art of cooking more exciting dishes and to learn about different ingredients and other dishes from all around the world.

This will start with finding a suitable cookery course and I will share how I get on with that. I will also share my thoughts and insights and maybe a few photos if I’m successful with any dishes! I will continue until I am confident enough to cook a delicious three-course meal for a group of friends or family.

So, I hope you will come with me on this journey of fulfilling my achievements and I hope you’ll enjoy it!

Let’s get started....
